Google+ (pronounced Google Plus) is a social networking service provided by Google.
Some people compare it to Facebook and Twitter but once you start using it, you will notice that it is different. It involves “social” and “people” and “communication”, but with one log in you are using it within the context of many of Google’s services such as YouTube, Hangouts, etc.

If you use Twitter or Facebook, you might be familiar with hashtags - words with # or "pound" symbol in front of them, for example #Google+, #workshop, #tech.
They allow you to tag/label content so that others can find it faster and see who else is talking/sharing similar content. When you click on a hashtag, it will show you related posts by other people/businesses. If you like what they are sharing/talking about, you can follow them as well.
